Explore the Icehotel

Walk inside the Icehotel and you cannot fail to be mesmerised by its glittering hallways lit by sparkling chandeliers of ice.  Forged using thousands of tonnes of ice taken from the River Torne, the seasonal Icehotel is reborn each winter in the village of Jukkasjärvi. Sculptors and artists from around the world transform its interior into exquisite yet ephemeral ice art – the fabulous suites enchanting guests for a few months before the unique creation melts back into the river.

By day, you will enjoy a host of winter activities from snowmobiling to ice sculpting; by night chill out at the Icebar, dine in the award-winning restaurant or head out in search of the magical northern lights, before snuggling down in your own very Ice Suite.

Sleep in an ice room

On a typical three-night Icehotel Break, you will spend one night sleeping in an ice room and two nights in ‘warm’ accommodation. Each ice bed has a base covered with a thick mattress strewn with pillows and reindeer furs. You’re given a cosy thermal sleeping bag to sleep in and you are woken up with a delicious cup of warm lingonberry juice.

See the Northern Lights

You can combine a stay at Icehotel with an overnight based in Abisko National Park – rated by Lonely Planet as the best place in the world for experiencing the northern lights. A thrilling chairlift ride to the Aurora Sky Station puts you on top of the world when the northern lights are blazing away.
