Always wanted to see the opera but didn’t know where to start? Our Introduction to Opera VIP package will suit you perfectly – The Barber of Seville is one of the most popular comedy operas and loved by those new to opera and seasoned fans alike.
Not seen at Glyndebourne since 1982, Rossini's tale of bribery, deception and disguise tells the story of Figaro – the barber of Seville – as he uses all his resources to help his master, Count Almaviva, outwit the evil Dr Bartolo in his quest for the hand of the fair Rosina.
Glyndebourne is one of the great opera houses – its productions travel worldwide, are performed live in other opera houses and screened in cinemas from New York to Tokyo, so tickets for this performance at the Milton Keynes Theatre will be in very high demand.
Conducted by Enrique Mazzola and directed by Annabel Arden with sparkling wit and playful energy springing directly from Rossini’s joyous music, this new production will be sung in Italian with English subtitles. 'A triumphant celebration of Rossini’s musical genius', The Independent.
