Join the Boundless by CSMA Camping & Caravanning Group at Barry Island Tourist Railway to experience a real-life railway in operation and learn about the history of railways in Barry and beyond. The new station café and free museum are worth a look, too.
The campsite is behind the train station and is the perfect base for short walks around the island to take in the spectacular views across the channel and its passing ships. You can reach the promenade in just three minutes, with its lovely sandy beach, funfair, pubs, and fish 'n' chip shops.
If you want to explore more of Wales, a bus service runs just 100 yards outside the campsite gate. Or catch a train into Cardiff (although check timetables about return journey as night trains aren't available).
Please note, on the campsite itself you will find Elsan emptying and fresh water points. Disabled access is good for mobility scooters, but walking on gravel may be difficult. Awnings may also pose a problem as parking is on a level gravel site.
Rally fee (per unit one off) £5
