9am to 5pm, Saturday 12 October 2019
We have a new event on the calendar, to tempt you out on an autumnal run through the wonderful Kent countryside.
The run is being organised by fellow member Bruce Manning who has negotiated a most interesting visit en route to the Anno Gin Distillery where we shall have a guided tour, and learn all there is to know about the making of gin – and of course, what it tastes like.
The start is from Dobbies Garden Centre in Gillingham, ideally placed near to Junction 4 of the M2, on the Bowaters roundabout. Dobbies does not open until 9 am but there is a Tesco over the road should you need to purchase some breakfast essentials. Bruce will take us through the countryside to the lovely village of Marden, where the Anno Gin Distillery was established in 2011.
There has been so much written about gin in recent months, we thought it was important that you understand all about this wonderful spirit; how it is made and what it tastes like. Unfortunately, being a responsible motor club, we can only offer alcohol to the non-driver but we will each be given a £5 voucher to purchase something on the day.
Moving on from the visit, we will stop over at Boughton Monchelsea to track down some lunch opportunities (not included in entry fee) before continuing with the tour which finishes at the Great Danes Country Hotel near Maidstone, a suitably convenient location near to the M20 and well placed to start your journey home.
Entry fee for the run, including the tour, is £47 per car & two occupants (£50 non-member guests) and includes:
Tulip Roadbook, Rally Plate, and entry to the distillery tour, including tasting
Extra passengers are welcome but there will be an extra charge of £12 per head to cover the tour.
