8am Saturday 2 June to 8pm Saturday 9 June 2018
If by now you’re missing those lovely summer days riding twisty roads in traffic free areas (especially if you were in Northern Italy with us in June this year). Well you can now look forward to repeating it again by joining our June 2018 tour to Malta in Austria. Yes it’s not the island we all know well, it’s in the Carinthia region of Austria approximately 130 miles south west of Innsbruck. It’s close to the borders of northern Italy and Slovenia, the nearest large town is Gmund which has a museum devoted to Porsche cars. We stayed there in 2011 and the area is ideal for motorcycling, it’s typically alpine, features many waterfalls and has the highest dam and reservoir in Austria.
The motorcycle friendly hotel has changed hands since we last visited, the original owners retiring back to the UK. The new owners have carried on in the same vein, providing 30 different routes in the local area all of which can be downloaded onto Tom Tom and Garmin sat navs. There is a secure garage for motorcycle parking along with a small workshop. A Karnten card is available for all hotel residents, this gives free or reduced price access to roads and attractions in the local area.
There is a mix of rooms available, singles, doubles, twins and a triple which in total can accommodate up to 30 people. The hotel is around 775 miles from Calais. It will be up to participants to arrange their own channel crossing and make their own way to the hotel – there will be no ‘official’ route provided.
For a map of the area see :- https://firstname.lastname@example.org,12.6000942,9z Malta is approx 7km north of Gmund
The half board rate is 58€ per person per night, for seven days this will be 406€ per person, this rate applies to all rooms.
