The National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire, opened in 2001 to commemorate all military and civilian losses since the Second World War. The Arboretum is a registered charity with over 300 memorials, each one with a personal story. It’s all set in 150 acres, with 30,000 trees, beautiful planting, and a recently completed visitor centre and exhibition space. Armed Forces Day (Previously Veterans’ Day) is traditionally held on the last Saturday in June, and our special Boundless package gives members, families and friends the opportunity to join this day of remembrance at the Arboretum. There will also be a land-train tour, commemorative music and entertainment.
Visitors may also join the daily Remembrance Service in the Millennium Chapel of Peace and Forgiveness. This is the only UK site that observes a daily remembrance service. Finish your day with a visit to the gift store, or enjoy a bite of food at the onsite restaurant and café.

There are 300 memorials set around the Arboretum, all of which have a different story to tell, such as the Basra Memorial, which remembers those who lost their lives in Iraq, and the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity Memorial, which recognises the pain felt by grieving parents and promotes important research.

The 50-minute journey on the land train is the perfect way to get around the site and see magnificent trees including Horse Chestnuts and Dawn Redwoods, framing monuments that resonate the
most with you.

You’re also welcome at the Millennium Chapel of Peace and Forgiveness, where a Remembrance Service is observed every day at 11am. Occasionally, private services take place, which may restrict access for visitors.
