During your break you'll be staying at the 3* Brookfield Hotel, a family owned country house hotel set in its own beautiful landscaped gardens, right next to the coastal village of Emsworth. Established in 1972 the hotel has a long and enviable reputation for high quality personal service and has been highly commended in the National Tourism Awards. The hotel has fantastic facilities and all rooms have a telephone, hospitality tray, ironing facilities, hair dryer, flatscreen TV & WiFi. There is also ample car parking which is always a plus.

The hotel is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, situated between Portsmouth and Chichester, the location is famed not only for its natural beauty but also it's fascinating history. The hotel makes an ideal base from which to explore the area. You could wander into Emsworth, with its range of village shops it's only a short walk away from relaxing with a quiet drink in one of the traditional inns, or just savour the village atmosphere with its historic buildings and views over the millpond.

Day 1

Check in is from 2pm. There will be a welcome meeting with a glass of wine before your private dining meal this evening.

Day 2

After a full English breakfast to start your day, you'll be transferred by coach in to Portsmouth where the day is dedicated predominantly to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Your "all attraction" ticket gives you access to the Mary Rose, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior 1860, National Museum, Royal Navy Portsmouth, Action Stations and the Harbour Tour.

At the Spinnaker Tower, entrance included, ready your nerves and  take the high speed lift to the 100m high viewing deck and experience the South Coast's most spectacular view. Discover the stories behind the view with I-VIEW interpretation touch screens. If you fancy hitting the shops whilst in Portsmouth,  you may choose to visit Gunwharf Quays and the Designer Shopping Outlet. After a full day your coach will return you to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3

Check out by 11am after your full English breakfast. Before heading home you may choose to make your own way to the Southsea area where the newly refurbished D-Day Museum is located. (entrance is payable locally & Pay & Display parking charges also apply). Discover displays about D-Day and the Battle of Normandy, told though the stories of those who took part.

A must see in the Museum is The Overlord Embroidery. It is the centre piece of the D-Day museum, commissioned by Lord Dulverton of Batsford as a tribute to the sacrifice and heroism of those who took part. Inspired by the Bayeaux Tapestry, it traces the progress of Overlord, from its origins in the dark days of 1940 to victory in Normandy in 1944.
