The Event: The Enchanted Forest is an outdoor choreographed sound and light show which takes place at Forestry Commission Scotland's Faskally woods near Pitlochry. Visitors will be treated to a series of shows while they follow the 1.8 Km path around Loch Dunmore and through the forest. You should expect to be in the forest between 60 to 90 minutes to fully appreciate the show. Most visitors walk around the forest circuit more than once during their visit, it takes about 40 minutes to complete the circuit at an average walking pace. Once you arrive you can stay as long as you like but the show will close at 10.30pm and the last shuttle bus leaves between 1030 & 1045. No one will be left in the forest
Catering: There are 3 catering units situated around the circuit offering a selection pf Hot Foods and Hot & Cold drinks. There is no facility to pay by credit card. There are also toilets located in the forest and these are clearly sign posted. A disabled toilet is located next to the blue badge parking area.
Access: Special arrangements can be made for registered disabled blue badge holders to book a disabled car pass to enable them to park on the site but this must be done in advance at the time of booking and there are a limited number of spaces available. The forest is accessible to some wheelchair users but motorised wheelchairs are not suitable for this site. Any pram or buggy must be able to be folded to take on the shuttle bus.
Safety: It is not recommended that Photo Sensitive Epileptics attend this event. Only assistance dogs are allowed at the event. Please wear warm waterproof clothing and sturdy walking shoes or boots. A Safety brief will be given while on the bus journey to the event advising on how to take care of yourself and your group while at the event.
Travel: Pitlochry which is just of the A9 on the A924 is accessible by Car, Bus and Rail. This event is very popular attracting large numbers ( 80000 visitors during the 30 days of October 2018) so please allow plenty of time to find a car park in Pitlochry and then walk to the shuttle bus pick up point which is the Fishers Hotel 75-79 Atholl Road Pitlochry PH16 5BN. There are ample Hotels and B&B establishments in and around Pitlochry may of whom advertise special offers at this time. Any attendees must make their own arrangements if they wish to stay overnight.
There will be 8 Stewards plus Security Staff at the departure point in Pitlochry and approximately 30 Stewards, 2 First Aiders, 2 Steward Team Leaders, 1 Head Steward and 1 Event Manager at the Enchanted Forrest. The Stewards are on duty at approximately 300 Yard intervals along the route through the Forrest and the 2 First Aiders roam around the route. All the staff are in Radio Contact with each other and the Steward are the first point of contact regarding lost children or to summon the First Aid Team. It is essential that all participants refrain from deviating from the designated footpaths which are lit to ensure your safety. If the Stewards ask you to do something for your own safety please comply with their request.
This is an all ticket event and everyone must have a ticket, even children under 3 years. Adults £20, Family Tickets £55 (2 Adults + 2 Children under 16), Child 3-15 £10 and Child under 3 Free. There are no concessions including for disabled or carers. The price includes the 10 minute shuttle bus bus to and from the forest from Fishers Hotel in the centre of Pitlochry and the time on your ticket is the time of you shuttle bus departure. Tickets are non-refundable. A further nominal charge of £1 is payable on the day for those wishing to visit the half hour Enchanted Storytelling Yurt. This is a very popular event and can sell out very quickly it is therefore intended that all those interested confirm their decision to attend with details of their party and any special requirements such as disabled car pass to the Point of Contact by 3 April 2019 (Fife Group AGM). Payments are also require by this date to the Fife Group Treasurer, Cheques should be made payable to Mrs H M Johnston. The Lead organiser will then book the e-tickets for Tuesday 15 October 2019 at 7.00pm and hold to distribute to those attending on the day. Again please note everyone must have a ticket and all tickets are non refundable.
