Have you ever wondered about the history of Newport's Guildhall, or the market hall or even the town's name? How can Newport be a port when it is not on a river of any size, and it was named long before the canal came along?
The answers to these questions and many more can be found at this talk given by a member of Newport History Society, so come along and discover some interesting facts about the local area even if you do not live in Newport.
Chip butties will be served at 7.30pm, with the talk starting at 8pm.
