About the Event

7.30pm to 10pm, Wednesday 9 October 2019

Here's some local history that is of national importance - the escape of Charles II via that oak tree at Boscobel House.

We all know about 'The Royal Oak' but how much do we know about the circumstances that created its fame?

Ken Gilks will take us through the events that led up to the King hiding in a tree and how he evaded capture to finally land in Normandy.

Come along for a chat, food and interesting facts. Chip butties at 7.30pm, talk starts at 8pm.

New and old members welcome!
