Welcome to our interesting and educative evening.
We will hold a talk about the story of Lady Astor who was the first woman seated in Parliament for the constituency of Plymouth. After many attempts, there will now be a bronze statue erected on Plymouth Hoe to celebrate her life and her many links with Plymouth. Alexis Bowater is an award winning journalist and TV presenter who has led the campaign for the statue to be built.
Come along and learn about Lady Astor's exciting life and the campaign for her statue which was unveiled on 28 November 2019, the centenary of her election.
