10.45am to 3pm, Wednesday 8 September 2021
Come along for a great opportunity to see a heroine of Dunkirk - The Medway Queen.
Built as a paddle steamer in 1924 The Medway Queen operated from the River Medway as a pleasure craft. During WW2 she saw service as a Minesweeper patrolling the Dover Straits before evacuating troops from Dunkirk.
Post WW2 The Medway Queen returned to the River Medway in her former role as a pleasure craft and retiring in 1960.
After a spell of deterioration and abandonment she was moved back to the River Medway where reconstruction began which are continuing to the present day.
During our tour we will be shown over The Medway Queen and observe the state of preservation.
Following the tour we will lunch at the nearby Mast and Rigging pub.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Tour cost £4 per head and the price of your meal.
