About the event

7.30pm to 9.30pm, Wednesday 27 October 2021

Come along to our RNLI Talk by John Porter.

John Porter is a former crew member with 35 years service initially at Filey and then subsequently at Scarborough.

After retiring from the crew he then continued with public engagement work for the RNLI which he has done for over 40 years. He is currently the voluntary Visitor and Education Officer at Scarborough Lifeboat Station.

His talk will detail some of the history of the lifeboat service in Scarborough and he will also be giving information of the development of the Shannon Class Lifeboat and the centre that builds them, sea and water safety, rescues, and statistical information.

There is complementary tea, coffee and biscuits, and free parking at the hotel.

We look forward to seeing you there.
