What is your position with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak?

Following the outbreak of COVID-19, Boundless is continuing to monitor the latest public health and government advice and acting in accordance with government and public health advice.

We have been in communication with the venue and at the present time it is still planning on being open. At this time we are planning to go ahead with the event as planned.

In order to minimise any risk, Boundless and the venue will be implementing a range of additional hygiene and communication measures at the event including minimise members sharing space, additional disinfectant of surfaces and ensuring the onsite team are practising standard personal preventative measures, e.g. personal hygiene, frequency of use of sanitising/disinfection products, etc.

The health and safety of our members is our number one priority. If you have any concerns and are feeling unwell, you may wish to reconsider your attendance at the event.

If future advice from the venue or the government changes which leads to closure of the venue or the event being cancelled, we will issue you a full refund on your tickets. If this is the case, we will get in touch with you via email. At this stage it may be prudent to keep any commitment to travel or accommodation to a minimum.

Please be assured, we are monitoring the situation very closely and will follow up with you if the situation develops. If you have any specific event questions, please email us at

How can I get there?

Bristol Balloon Fiesta is a very popular event and we recommend the use of public transport where possible.

By bicycle: Those wishing to cycle can take Festival Way, a traffic-free path connecting the city to the Ashton Court Estate and beyond. Starting in Bristol, you can use the National Cycling Route 33 which takes you on a traffic-free path from Queen Square out of the city via Cumberland Road. Crossing the River Avon, you join Kennel Lodge Road as you enter Ashton Court. There is bike parking available on site by the Mansion House and Fallow Deer Park.

On foot: There are two main routes into the site via Festival Way, as detailed above, or via the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

By bus: The First Bus Balloon Shuttle service runs from Temple Meads railway station and the city-centre Metrobus Stop C2 on Colston Avenue to the fiesta. We highly recommend local residents take advantage of this service – tickets are available on the bus with no need to pre-book.

By car: Ashton Court is situated to the southwest of Bristol city centre. There are large car parks on the Ashton Court Estate for the use people attending the fiesta. Parking information can be found on the fiesta website – we strongly recommend buying your parking in advance.

I have a friend or family member who wants to come as well.

Great, bring them along! They can have full use of the members’ area as well as long as you’re with them.

Where is the Boundless members area and how do I get in?

The Boundless members’ area will be located slightly approximately 100m to the eastern side of the arena, its is up a slight slope and to the right of the funfair. For more info on where we’ll be, click on the yellow ‘I’m Interested’ box on the right of the screen.

To get into the members’ area, all you need to do is show any of our team your Boundless membership card. We’ll then issue you with a pass which allows you to drop in as many times as you like over the weekend.

When will the Boundless members area be open?

The members’ area will be open throughout the fiesta, including the evening of the Nightglow and fireworks.

  • Thursday 6 August: 12pm – 11pm (Nightglow and fireworks)
  • Friday 7 August: 6am – 7pm
  • Saturday 8 August: 6am – 11pm (Nightglow and fireworks)
  • Sunday 9 August: 6am – 7pm

How accessible is the site for people with mobility difficulties?

Ashton Court estate has a small amount of trackway, but the majority of the ground is grass and uneven. Those with mobility issues will be able to access the Boundless members’ seating areas. However, due to the way the space is set up, anyone having difficulty with stairs may not be able to access the balcony level.

Is the airshow dog-friendly? And are they allowed in the Boundless Members Area?

Dogs are definitely welcomed to the Airshow. You might experience some loud noises and there will be lots of people so we recommend having a dog on the lead. Please look out for the full programme of events and plan your trip with your dog around this.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the members area, we ask you to please be aware that some people (and particularly children) may find dogs unsettling.
