1. Watch an all-action reboot

Ryan Gosling in The Fall Guy

If you were around in the 1980s, you’ll almost certainly remember The Fall Guy – the primetime TV series starring Lee Majors as wise-cracking stuntman Colt Seavers. Well, the franchise has been rebooted for the big screen, and it’s somersaulting into UK cinemas on 3 May. Directed by David Leitch (Bullet Train), this new take on the cult favourite sees Hollywood hunk Ryan Gosling take on the role of the battle-scarred daredevil. Though he’s now taking a break from the movie business, Seavers is tasked by his film director ex (Emily Blunt) with locating a film star who’s gone missing. Packed with high-octane thrills and laugh-out-loud moments, The Fall Guy is sure to get the blood pumping, whether or not you were a fan of the original show.

Boundless offer: Members get access to The Cinema Society, which will enable you to get 37% off tickets, snacks and drinks at a choice of cinemas nationwide.

2. Take a hike

May is National Walking month, so if you’ve been meaning to make time to get out in the fresh air, take in some new views, or just get your step count up, it’s a great time to do it. There are various organisations providing trails and free guided walks during the months, in places as varied as Derbyshire’s National Forest to Coleton in Devon. If you’re feeling ambitious, why not sign up to this Walk 100 miles in May challenge (it’s an average of 3.23 miles per day)?

Boundless offer: Need some new walking boots or weatherproof gear? You can save 12.5% on purchases with Boundless partner Cotswold Outdoor (exclusions apply).

3. Reacquaint yourself with nature

Looking to distract the kids from their phone or console? Or perhaps you need a break from browsing yourself? Well, you now have the perfect opportunity. From 6-12 May, people around the world will be celebrating Screen-Free Week – an initiative that encourages folk to put down their gadgets and reconnect with their surroundings. For a truly uplifting experience, why not head to one of the WWT’s wetland centres. There are nine across the UK, meaning you shouldn’t have to travel too far to find one, and each centre is home to a wide variety of species – many of them endangered. If you take some paper and pens, you can write down the names of each animal, bird or insect as you spot them.

Boundless offer: Members get unlimited access to all nine WWT centres, as well as free entry for one additional adult and up to six children.

4. Watch an open-air show

Kiss Me Kate musical London

The warmer weather brings many great benefits – one of which is the chance to enjoy a show in the great outdoors. Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is launching its summer season this month with the classic Shakespeare comedy Twelfth Night (3 May – 8 June). Set in the stifling Mediterranean heat, this hilarious tale of mistaken identity has been thrilling audiences for centuries, telling the story of a young girl who causes mayhem when she’s washed up on shore following a shipwreck. With romance and riotous partying in equal measures, Twelfth Night is one of the Bard’s best – and performed in one of London’s most picturesque parks, it’s sure to be even better.

Boundless offer: Members can get 10% off theatre tickets when booking through Boundless Tickets.

5. Book a bank holiday break

One of the best things about May is that we get two bank holidays – one at the start of the month (6 May this year) and another at the end (27 May). If you’re looking to get away for a long weekend, the good news is that you can do so without spending a fortune, all thanks to your Boundless membership. Not only can you save money by enjoying a break at one of the Boundless-owned properties – Whitemead Forest Park, the Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel and Cotswold Cottages – you can also get holiday discounts by booking a trip through one of our partners. If you’re a nurse (and even if you’re not), why not mark the occasion by enjoying a well-deserved pampering session. Boundless partner Virgin Experience Days offers a choice of spa days at locations across the UK. Whether you want to combine your visit with an indulgent treatment or a light lunch, or you’re happy just to recline by the pool for a few hours, you’re sure to find a package to suit your preference and budget.

Offering a fun and relaxed alternative to ‘real’ golf, it’s a pastime that’s perfect for people of all ages and abilities. And with courses available both indoors and out, you can while away a few hours whatever the weather.
