About this event
Planning for the future can provide valuable peace of mind, both for you and those closest to you. Join us for this informative online talk, where qualified solicitor Will Norton will explain everything you need to know about Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) in England and Wales.
Designed to help you understand your options with confidence, this practical session will explore what an LPA is, why it matters and how it can help protect your wishes should there come a time when you need support managing your affairs.
You’ll learn about the two types of LPA – property and financial affairs and health and welfare – including when they can be used and the important decisions they cover. The session will also guide you through the process of setting up and registering an LPA, with helpful advice on choosing attorneys, completing the paperwork and avoiding common mistakes that can cause delays.
Along the way, you’ll gain useful insight into how LPAs work in practice, from dealing with banks and healthcare providers to understanding the responsibilities of attorneys and the safeguards in place to protect everyone involved.
