About the rallyThe Thames Valley Motoring Group and Motorcycle Group is planning to enter a team in the ACU Welsh National Rally 2026, taking place on Saturday 9th May 2026. Run under the Auto-Cycle Union, the Welsh National Rally is a well known long distance motorcycle event that brings together riders from across the country. The rally involves navigating a set route through Wales, visiting checkpoints along the way while managing time and distance. There are several award levels available, with the Bronze route typically covering around 150 to 200 miles, making it an enjoyable and achievable challenge for most riders. The current plan is to ride to our designated starting point in Oswestry on Friday 8th May, where we will stay overnight at a nearby Premier Inn. On Saturday 9th May we will depart at approximately 8:30am to take part in the rally, aiming to complete the Bronze Award route. The route will take us through some of the best riding roads in Wales before finishing in Ebbw Vale later that evening. We will then stay overnight at a Premier Inn in Ebbw Vale, before setting off for home on Sunday 10th May 2026. This should be a great weekend of riding, offering a mix of challenge, scenery and good company for everyone involved. |
