About the talkJoin fellow Boundless members this October for an engaging and informative club night talk. Arguably Britain's greatest naval commander, Admiral Lord Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronté, was born on 29th September 1758 at Burnham Thorpe in Norfolk. He took command of his first ship at the age of 20 and is best remembered for his victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. However, his rise to fame was far from straightforward, and his life was marked by many challenges, both at sea and on shore. John Wright, a meticulous researcher and accomplished speaker, will take us through Nelson's remarkable life, exploring the battles, achievements and personal struggles that shaped one of Britain's most celebrated military figures. |

I’ve never been to a social event before, what can I expect?
Social events are a relaxed and friendly way for Boundless members to come together, meet new people and enjoy shared interests.
Activities vary from group to group and can include anything from a museum visit or pub lunch to a guest speaker talk or games night. Groups are always pleased to welcome new faces.
Can I bring a guest with me to the event?
In most cases, yes. Guests are welcome at social events, as long as one person attending is a Boundless member.
There may be occasional exceptions, it’s always best to reach out and ask. You can used the contact details on the group’s home page or in the ‘How to book’ section of the event page.
Is there a cost to attend?
This depends on the event. Many social events are free, particularly those held at local venues. Some events, such as trips or special activities, may have a cost, but you may also be able to take advantage of exclusive Boundless member discounts.
Can I organise or help at a social event?
Yes – we’d love that! We are always looking for new volunteers to help create moments for members. It’s best to complete our volunteer interest form so we can get in touch and chat about opportunities.
