About the tripJoin fellow Boundless members for a fascinating talk, The Inn at the Top, by Neil Hanson. Join fellow Boundless members this June for a fun and memorable day out on the popular diesel hauled Fish and Chip, or sausage and chips, train, known as “The Wensleydale Fryer”. The day will begin with coach departure from the Mercure Fairfield Manor Hotel at 10:30am. There will be a stop at Braithwaite’s Garden Centre for an optional break, where you can enjoy tea or coffee or browse the shops before continuing the journey. We will then travel on to Leeming Bar station, where you will enjoy a free guided tour of the recently restored station building ahead of the train departure at 1:30pm. The train journey will take you through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside from Leeming Bar to Leyburn. There will be time at Leyburn for a short comfort break and an opportunity to stretch your legs before rejoining the train for the return journey. During the trip, volunteer staff will serve your food and drinks as you sit back, relax and take in the scenery. The full train experience lasts approximately two hours. After returning to Leeming Bar, the coach will depart at 4:15pm, with an expected arrival back in York at around 5:15pm. Why not come along and enjoy a relaxed and sociable day out with fellow members, combining good food, great scenery and excellent company. |

Social events are a relaxed and friendly way for Boundless members to come together, meet new people and enjoy shared interests.
Activities vary from group to group and can include anything from a museum visit or pub lunch to a guest speaker talk or games night. Groups are always pleased to welcome new faces.
In most cases, yes. Guests are welcome at social events, as long as one person attending is a Boundless member.

This depends on the event. Many social events are free, particularly those held at local venues. Some events, such as trips or special activities, may have a cost, but you may also be able to take advantage of exclusive Boundless member discounts.
