Last-minute holidays - get money off a fabulous autumn break

The summer may be drawing to a close, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a nice, relaxing break.

Whether you want to explore the British Isles or jet off to sunnier climes, there is still some availability. And what's more, there are some great savings to be made through Boundless's travel partners. Here, some of those operators – Barrhead Travel, Brittany Ferries, Cottages.com, Hoseasons, West Cliff Hotel in Bournemouth and Whitemead Forest Park – explain what you can book, how much you can expect to save and what Covid restrictions are still in place...

What availability do you have for autumn breaks?

last-minute holiday greek islands

Barrhead Travel: We have a wide offering for autumn breaks, with the Canaries, the Balearics and the Greek Islands being the most popular picks for our customers. Holidaymakers – particularly families – are looking for something familiar for their first post-pandemic holiday.

Brittany Ferries: We have a great choice of sailings to France and Spain from Portsmouth or Plymouth this autumn, all of which can be combined with accommodation. From self-catering cottages to handpicked hotels, there’s plenty to choose from.

Cottages.com: Despite the boom in ‘staycations’ and the popularity of holidaying closer to home, Cottages.com still have an array of self-catering holiday properties available this autumn, with something to suit everyone.

Choose from coastal cottages, rural retreats, unique hideaways or somewhere large and lavish where family and friends can get together and reconnect. Many cottages offer facilities for a lovely stress-free break – hot tubs, open fires, crisp walks from the doorstep and a great pub close by. Many of our properties accept pets, too.

Hoseasons: Hoseasons still has a wide range of accommodation available, from holiday parks and lodges to cottages and boating breaks. However, we recommend that those looking for a getaway this autumn be quick… great British breaks are selling fast!

Autumn breaks offer the perfect ingredients for a memorable break – open fires and wood burners, hot tubs, brisk coastal walks, not to mention some serious quality time with your nearest and dearest. Choose from thousands of quality-graded lodges in quiet woodland settings, all of which are perfect for kicking back and recharging your batteries. As for pets, why go on holiday and leave the family's best friend behind? They are more than welcome at our properties.

West Cliff Hotel, Bournemouth: Autumn is looking like a popular month, but we do still have availability – particularly during the week.

Whitemead Forest Park: We’re filling up fast for autumn, but still have breaks available to snap up! We have camping/caravanning pitches from just £25 a night, glamping pods from £70 a night, and apartments and woodland lodges from £80 a night. All the details relating to these prices and autumn breaks in general can be found here. There’s also lots of choice available for November – so it’s a perfect month to book if you have a favourite accommodation type you want to secure.

Do you still have any restrictions in place due to Covid?

Barrhead Travel: While travel still looks a little different, we've introduced our new Stress-free Guarantee to make sure that all you need to do is relax, knowing that we’ve taken care of everything for you.

We go the extra mile to make sure that every single Barrhead Travel holiday is completely financially protected – meaning that if your holiday can't go ahead as planned, you're guaranteed to receive a refund. We also offer an array of flexible booking options, 24/7 overseas support and Covid-19 insurance policies.

Brittany Ferries: Going by ferry is a great Covid-safe method of travel. Enjoy check-in from the comfort of your own car, and whilst there's plenty of fresh sea air and room on board to roam, a cabin will offer you your own personal space during the sailing. Quarantine is no longer required upon re-entry to the UK from amber list countries if you’ve had both your vaccinations, however masks are still mandatory in all public areas of the ship other than when seated to eat or drink.

Cottages.com and Hoseasons: Government regulations on Covid-19 change frequently, so please follow our latest Covid-19 updates here. Our customers' safety has always been our main priority, therefore our Safer Stays and Book with Confidence policies remain in place.

Safer stays
With thousands of properties to choose from, you can decide how far you want to be from the crowds – whether you’d like to hide away in a self-contained rural retreat or you’re happy to share facilities with other holidaymakers. Wherever it is, you can rest assured that you can holiday safely, where your health is a priority and thorough cleanliness protocols are in place. In fact, it’s easy to check an accommodation’s historic cleanliness score to set your mind at ease.

Book with confidence
If your booking is cancelled, or you have to cancel it as a result of UK government public health measures, you’ll be covered with our Book with Confidence guarantee, giving you three options including a full refund. And that’s on top of the incredible savings you make as a Boundless member.

Last-minute holiday bournemouth

West Cliff Hotel, Bournemouth: The Hotel has found that the way we’ve been operating since reopening has enabled us to help keep everyone safe and reassure our guests and colleagues that their safety is of the upmost importance. With this in mind, we continue to operate - sanitisation stations, screens at tills and signage throughout the hotel to remind guests about social distancing and we ask that all guests are respectful to others during their stay. Full details are available here.

Whitemead Forest Park: We’ve found that the way we’ve been operating over the past year has enabled us to help keep everyone safe and reassure our guests that their safety is of the upmost importance. With this in mind, we continue to operate in a cautious manner – sanitisation stations, screens at tills, a reduction in indoor dining capacity and dedicated queueing systems remain in place.

In addition to this, we’ve significantly improved our outdoor areas, including creating a new terrace for dining and drinking. Where possible, we’ll be using the new terrace and other outdoor spaces to offer entertainment and activities. With regard to the swimming pool, we will continue to operate general swimming sessions only and will continue to run at a slightly reduced capacity. Full details are available here.
