About the driveMonday 22 June - Sunday 28 June 2026Enjoy an exciting and relaxing trip this summer with the Classic Vehicle Group, a long overdue return to Reims. The trip is being planned again with our Boundless partners, Brittany Ferries. Our adventure starts in Portsmouth where we will join our 8am Brittany Ferry for the 6-hour crossing to Caen arriving at c.15:00hrs. From there we will take a drive to our first overnight stop at Hotel Ibis Styles Parc des Expos Zenith in Rouen. Day 2After breakfast will see us making our way to our next Hotel, the Ibis at Soissons where we will be staying for the next 4 nights. A location ideally placed for exploring the surrounding area. Day 3On Wednesday the main event will be a drive to the historic "Reims de Gueux", the former Reims racing circuit. Opened in 1926, it used public roads and was the venue for the Grand Prix de la Marne and hosted several Formula One French Grand Prix from 1950 to 1966. Closed as a racing circuit in 1972 and now a public road you can stop and walk around the pit complex and grandstands, many of which are in Art Deco style. The circuit saw its heyday in the 50's and 60's with both 12-hour endurance races and 14 Formula 1 Grand Prix's. Indeed, its debut in Formula 1 was during the inaugural World Championship year in 1950. In 1954, Jaguar gained a 1,2,3 in the 12-hour race with a maiden victory for the D Type. If there’s no traffic you can try a grand prix start and imagine being in a F1 car and drive the route which is still accessible to experience the circuit, all at the correct speed limit of course. While in the Reims area other places of interest include Musée Automobile Reims Champagne and Cathedral of Notre-Dame of Reims. Days 4 and 5As the tour is a free and easy event, Thursday and Friday you have the freedom to explore the area. Day 6 Saturday– sees us return to Rouen for our overnight stop again at the Hotel Ibis Styles Parc des Expos Zenith. Day 7We make our way back to Caen and our 16:30 return ferry to Portsmouth. |
PricePer car (driver and one passenger) - £985.00 This includes return ferry and bed & breakfast accommodation. Local tourist taxi at hotel is not included in the price. Rally Plates and admin costs (payable directly to CVG) £50.00 |
