A family day out that's truly out of this world

Set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, Jodrell Bank is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the iconic Lovell Telescope, a 76-metre structure that has been scanning the skies since 1957. From tracking Sputnik’s first orbit to supporting the Apollo Moon missions, it stands as one of Britain’s greatest scientific achievements and continues to contribute to cutting-edge research today.

Across the site, you’ll discover a full day of exploration. Dive into hands-on science through interactive exhibitions, experience live Telescope Talks and uncover the story of space, technology and discovery in a way that’s engaging for all ages. Step inside the impressive First Light Pavilion to explore the origins of the universe, watch an introduction to Jodrell Bank on the big screen or take your seat in one of the spectacular Space Dome Shows, including the magical What Santa Sees, a festive journey across the night sky.

Outside, wander through the scenic 35-acre arboretum or let younger visitors explore the Constellation Playground. When it’s time to warm up, enjoy a break in the café and browse the gift shop filled with science-inspired toys, games and books.

Whether you’re a science enthusiast, planning a family day out or simply looking for something different this winter, Jodrell Bank offers a memorable experience from start to finish.
