About the talkMembers and their guests are warmly invited to join the Swindon Group once again for our annual Christmas event. There will be a talk, buffet and refreshments included during this evening. This popular seasonal talk will be hosted by Helen Astrid who is an engaging, entertaining and informative speaker and she will hopefully leave us feeling ready for the festive season. Helen will lead us through 300 years of musical history throughout Europe and further afield. Discover the legends and stories behind your favourite Christmas carols as well as discovering new gems. How and why did they begin? Finally she invites us to join in a special festive sing-a-long at the end you won't want to miss! There is also free parking but do please register your car on arrival at reception. As usual there will also be information on future events coming up, opportunities to view past club magazines and socialise in the bar. Your organisers Rick and Pauline do hope that or regular members will be able to show us your support and join us for this annual event. |

Do I have to join this social local group to attend the event?
Any Boundless member can attend events hosted by any group, wherever they’re based.

I’ve never been to a social event before, what can I expect?
Social events are a relaxed and friendly way for Boundless members to come together, meet new people and enjoy shared interests.
Activities vary from group to group and can include anything from a museum visit or pub lunch to a guest speaker talk or games night. Groups are always pleased to welcome new faces.
Can I bring a guest with me to the event?
In most cases, yes. Guests are welcome at social events, as long as one person attending is a Boundless member.
There may be occasional exceptions, it’s always best to reach out and ask. You can used the contact details on the group’s home page or in the ‘How to book’ section of the event page.
Is there a cost to attend?
This depends on the event. Many social events are free, particularly those held at local venues. Some events, such as trips or special activities, may have a cost, but you may also be able to take advantage of exclusive Boundless member discounts.
Can I organise or help at a social event?
Yes – we’d love that! We are always looking for new volunteers to help create moments for members. It’s best to complete our volunteer interest form so we can get in touch and chat about opportunities.
