About the talkJoin fellow Boundless members for an intriguing and mysterious talk by Martin Lloyd. Hear thrilling stories of how three passports have played surprising and influential roles in history: an attempted assassination that led to changes in passport regulations, the capture of a spy that triggered a worldwide redesign of the document, and, for one individual, a passport that became a killer. Martin Lloyd first came to national attention on BBC Radio 4’s Midweek programme, where he captivated listeners with his accounts of passport history, comfortably covering for an absent guest on live radio. He spent 24 years working for HM Immigration Service and now shares his expertise through books, television appearances, and radio talks. Refreshments will be available as usual. Free parking is provided, but please remember to register your car on arrival at reception. There will also be opportunities to learn about future events, view past club magazines, and socialise in the bar. All members, along with family and friends, are warmly invited to join this fascinating talk. |
