About the meet

Saturday 8 May - Tuesday 18 May 2027

Experience the best of Cornwall on this new hosted break at the award winning, 5 star Polmanter Touring Park within walking distance of St Ives. With exclusive 10% discount on their apartments and new glamping Safari Tents or special rates on camping pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents - there’s something for everyone!

May is a wonderful time to visit, with the park’s outdoor heated swimming pool opening on 15 May and the St Ives Food and Drink Fayre taking place that weekend on one of the town’s five beautiful beaches. The popular Stable Restaurant and Bar provide a great place to eat and socialise. Getting around is easy with their own bus shuttle service as well as the public bus stop nearby, train service and local taxi companies.

St Ives offers plenty to discover, including the South West Coast Path, Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, St Ives Museum, Leach Pottery and numerous independent galleries, many of which are free to enter. Wander the town’s cobbled streets, browse its unique shops, or enjoy one of the many cafés, restaurants and bars with spectacular coastal views. You may even spot dolphins from the Coastguard Station or seals at National Trust Godrevy Point. Further afield, take the train to Falmouth to visit Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum, or to Penzance for a trip to National Trust St Michael’s Mount.

This will be a gentle introduction to holidaying with fellow members with volunteer hosts to greet you and help advise about the lovely area. There will be a couple of optional evening social gatherings in the Bar and perhaps some ad hoc ones too subject to demand.

Mon to Sat 9-5pm

I’ve never been to a social break before, what can I expect?

Social breaks are a relaxed and friendly way for Boundless members to come together, meet new people and visit new places. Activities vary from break to break and can include anything from a museum or garden visit, to activities at the hotel or just enjoying your free time. Groups are always pleased to welcome new faces.

Are the breaks guided?

Our social breaks are not guided, but we always have a volunteer host who is there to help with any questions you have, ensure you're comfortable and help to bring people together.

Can I attend the break alone?

Yes! Many of our members attend the breaks alone. It is a great opportunity to meet like minded people and socialise in a warm and inviting environment.

Can I bring a guest with me to the event?

In most cases, yes. Guests are welcome at social events, as long as one person attending is a Boundless member. There may be occasional exceptions, it’s always best to reach out and ask. You can used the contact details on the group’s home page or in the ‘How to book’ section of the event page.

How can I receive a physical copy of the Social Breaks and Holidays Guide?

If you would like to receive a paper copy of the Social Breaks & Holidays Guide post please call Member Services on 0800 669944 or email membercommunities@boundless.co.uk.

How do I book a break?

Each break has a 'booking' section which tells you how to book on to a social break.

Can I organise or help at a social break?

Yes – we’d love that! We are always looking for new volunteers to help create moments for members. It’s best to complete our volunteer interest form so we can get in touch and chat about opportunities. You’ll become part of a supportive community helping to bring people together through fun and engaging activities. Click here to find out more about volunteering with Boundless.
