What to do in the local areaIn your free time, why not explore the Isle of Wight. In the day you can drive 15 minutes to see the world-famous Needles Landmark Attraction, the striking three chalk stalks and lighthouse rising out of the sea off the western tip of the Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight is also home to a diverse range of beautiful beaches from cliffs, sandy beaches and hidden rock pools. Take a peaceful winter stroll along the shore and as the Isle of Wight is only 22.5 miles long, you’re never too far from stunning sea views. If it’s too windy on the beach, why not head inland to one of the ancient woodlands and enchanting forests. Find out more about the Isle of Wight’s forests here. There is a bus that goes from Norton Grange into Newport, the centre of the Isle of Wight. This bus takes around 40 minutes. In Newport you can check out local shops, explore Carisbrooke Castle and it’s beautiful gardens or visit Newport Roman Villa. If you fancy taking in some history, the Isle of Wight has some fantastic museums. Visit the Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum just half an hour drive away from the hotel to see one of the largest collections in the country of items brought up from real shipwrecks. If you’re interested in the Isle of Wight’s history, the Museum of Island History offers a journey through the islands history and is accessible by bus going from Norton Grange. You can also visit Shanklin, a charming seaside town known for its thatched cottages, cosy cafes and dramatic coastlines. |

Social breaks are a relaxed and friendly way for Boundless members to come together, meet new people and visit new places. Activities vary from break to break and can include anything from a museum or garden visit, to activities at the hotel or just enjoying your free time. Groups are always pleased to welcome new faces.
Our social breaks are not guided, but we always have a volunteer host who is there to help with any questions you have, ensure you're comfortable and help to bring people together.
