About the rallyMonday 6 September - Thursday 16 September 2027Join fellow Boundless members for a relaxing stay in beautiful Lincolnshire at a fully serviced site in the charming village of Woodhall Spa. Ideally located close to the town centre, the site provides easy access to a wide range of cafés, pubs, restaurants and local attractions, while also being perfectly situated for exploring the many highlights of Lincolnshire. The site sits alongside the Country Park and is just a short walk from the famous Kinema in the Woods, one of the UK’s most unique cinemas, as well as Jubilee Park with its popular outdoor swimming pool and gardens. Woodhall Spa’s central location within the county makes it an excellent base for sightseeing. Good public transport links provide easy access to the historic city of Lincoln, home to its magnificent cathedral, impressive castle and fascinating Victorian prison, which is open to visitors. The historic town of Boston, famous for its Pilgrim Fathers connections and proximity to The Wash coastline, is also within easy reach. For aviation enthusiasts, the area is particularly rich in RAF history, with several museums and heritage centres nearby including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre, Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, International Bomber Command Centre and Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum, along with many other aviation attractions across the county. There are also numerous stately homes and historic sites to explore. The National Trust’s Tattershall Castle is close by, while Belton House near Grantham, Burghley House in Stamford, Doddington Hall near Lincoln and Grimsthorpe Castle near Bourne all make excellent days out. Nature lovers and walkers will find plenty to enjoy too, with several country parks and scenic countryside locations nearby, particularly within the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds. The area is also dotted with traditional market towns such as Horncastle, renowned for its antiques and independent shops. For those wanting a classic seaside excursion, the popular resort of Skegness is within reach, while the quieter coastal town of Mablethorpe offers a more relaxed alternative. There are countless other attractions and places of interest throughout the area, including the atmospheric ruins of Bolingbroke Castle, once associated with John of Gaunt. Whether you are interested in history, aviation, countryside walks, seaside visits or simply relaxing with fellow members, this promises to be a wonderful and enjoyable getaway in the heart of Lincolnshire. |
