What to do in the local area

There are three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Canterbury, including Canterbury Cathedral, St Martin's Church and St Augustine's Abbey, all of which are reachable within a 20 minute walk from the hotel. The Canterbury Roman Museum and The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge are also a short walk away.

There is also a selection of vineyards in and around Canterbury, from the family-run Chartham Vineyard to the internationally recognised Simpsons Wine Estate.

For anyone wanting to get out into nature, Blean Woods National Nature Reserve is a 30 minute drive from the hotel. You can explore yourself or take a guided tour, but keep an eye out for bison, pigs and Exmoor ponies! Or you can take a walk along the Crab and Winkle Way.

The seaside towns of Whitstable and Herne Bay are both about a half hours drive from the hotel, why not take a trip and try out one of Whitstable's famous native oysters or take in the award-winning coastline of Herne Bay.

There is also an abundance of independent shops, cafes and restaurants for you mosey around and Whitefriars Shopping Centre if you're up for some retail therapy.

Social breaks are a relaxed and friendly way for Boundless members to come together, meet new people and visit new places. Activities vary from break to break and can include anything from a museum or garden visit, to activities at the hotel or just enjoying your free time. Groups are always pleased to welcome new faces.

Our social breaks are not guided, but we always have a volunteer host who is there to help with any questions you have, ensure you're comfortable and help to bring people together.
