About the breakMonday 31 August - Thursday 3 September 2026Stay at The Mercure Swansea, ideally located for exploring the rich cultural heritage of South Wales. Each day offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in curated gardens, historic estates and peaceful walking trails. If you’re a nature lover, this break is for you. What's includedYour stay includes three nights of dinner, bed and breakfast, with a welcome drink of a glass of wine on the first evening. Three excursions and admissions to gardens are also included. |
ExcursionsThis exciting new break is perfect for nature and gardening enthusiasts who are drawn to peaceful landscapes and historic gardens. Wales is home to some of the UK's horticultural treasures and this itinerary will take you on a journey from sweeping glasshouses to Edwardian estates. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is home to the world’s largest single-span glasshouse and is a paradise of native and exotic plants spread across 500 acres. For more information, or to plan things to do upon arrival at the botanic garden, click here: National Botanic Garden of Wales Aberglasney Gardens is home to more than ten acres of enchanting heritage gardens, from indoor sub-tropical gardens to their Elizabethan Cloister Garden. Take a look around the historic grade II listed mansion or relax in the tea rooms. Find out more about Aberglasney here: Aberglasney Gardens Dyffryn Gardens is a National Trust property with 55-acre gardens from gorgeous arboretums to tropical glasshouses. Find out more on these Edwardian gardens here: Dyffryn Gardens After a visit to Dyrffryn Gardens, the coach will take you a quick 25-minute drive to visits St Fagans National History Museum located on the edge of Cardiff. What to do in the local areaFor those interested in culture and history, Swansea’s National Waterfront Museum and Dylan Thomas Centre offer engaging exhibitions and a deeper look into Welsh heritage. Shoppers can browse Swansea Market, the largest indoor market in Wales, known for its local crafts, fresh produce and traditional Welsh cakes. If you’re looking for a slower moment between excursions, nearby Llansamlet Lake provides a quiet spot for birdwatching or a gentle walk. |

About the hotelThe Mercure Swansea has four accessible rooms available, so please request this at time of booking. Pet friendly rooms are available at a surcharge of £15 per night. For any queries regarding this break, please email the Social Group on social.group@boundless.co.uk. |
Price£385 per person based on two sharing a double/twin room. Single supplement is charged at £25 per night. There are three upgraded rooms available at £20 supplement per night. A £50 deposit is necessary at time of booking and the full balance is due 8 weeks in advance of the break starting. Pet friendly rooms are available at a surcharge of £15 per night Room UpgradesRoom upgrades are not available for this break. |

Social breaks are a relaxed and friendly way for Boundless members to come together, meet new people and visit new places. Activities vary from break to break and can include anything from a museum or garden visit, to activities at the hotel or just enjoying your free time. Groups are always pleased to welcome new faces.
Our social breaks are not guided, but we always have a volunteer host who is there to help with any questions you have, ensure you're comfortable and help to bring people together.
Yes! Many of our members attend the breaks alone. It is a great opportunity to meet like minded people and socialise in a warm and inviting environment.
In most cases, yes. Guests are welcome at social events, as long as one person attending is a Boundless member. There may be occasional exceptions, it’s always best to reach out and ask. You can used the contact details on the group’s home page or in the ‘How to book’ section of the event page.
