What to do in the local areaHow you spend your days is up to you, so why not head out and explore Bristol and the surrounding area. Explore Bristol's historic harbourside and see Brunel SS Great Britain at Bristol Dockyard where you can explore the cabins, deck and learn about it's history. History lovers can also visit Bristol M Shed, the museum of Bristol that tells the story of the city. Whilst exploring Bristol take a stroll through the city centre and visit Bristol Cathedral, which has a history dating back over 1,000 years. Art lovers can explore Bristol's iconic street art decorating the city's walls, including works from the elusive graffiti artist Banksy. Find out more about what to do in Bristol here. You’ll also enjoy an included excursion to historic Bath, where you can soak up the festive atmosphere and explore the magical Christmas Market. Take some time to browse the stalls and pick up Christmas gifts. Whilst in Bath for the day, feel free to visit the Roman Baths, or discover Bath's Georgian history. About the hotelAll rooms are well with en-suite bathrooms, baths and showers. There are also tea and coffee making facilities, a flat-screen TV and a hairdryer in each room. The hotel has a leisure centre with swimming pool, sauna, steam room & gym. There are 2 fully adapted accessible rooms available. If you require an accessible room, please request when booking. The DoubleTree by Hilton is a pet-friendly hotel. Please note there is a no-refundable supplement of £35 for a pet-friendly room. I’ve never been to a social break before, what can I expect?
Social breaks are a relaxed and friendly way for Boundless members to come together, meet new people and visit new places. Activities vary from break to break and can include anything from a museum or garden visit, to activities at the hotel or just enjoying your free time. Groups are always pleased to welcome new faces.
Are the breaks guided?
Our social breaks are not guided, but we always have a volunteer host who is there to help with any questions you have, ensure you're comfortable and help to bring people together.
Can I attend the break alone?
Yes! Many of our members attend the breaks alone. It is a great opportunity to meet like minded people and socialise in a warm and inviting environment.
Can I bring a guest with me to the event?
In most cases, yes. Guests are welcome at social events, as long as one person attending is a Boundless member. There may be occasional exceptions, it’s always best to reach out and ask. You can used the contact details on the group’s home page or in the ‘How to book’ section of the event page.

Yes – we’d love that! We are always looking for new volunteers to help create moments for members. It’s best to complete our volunteer interest form so we can get in touch and chat about opportunities.
