About this event

Behind one of the most recognisable front doors in the world lies the heart of British political power. But how much do we really know about the building that has been home to generations of prime ministers?

Join Boundless for a fascinating online event with Jack Brown, the first Researcher in Residence at 10 Downing Street, as he takes us behind the scenes of this famous address.

Discover how No. 10 transformed from an ordinary London residence into the centre of government, and how its rooms, corridors and constant renovations have shaped the way prime ministers work, live and lead. Drawing on unprecedented access to people and papers, Jack will uncover intriguing stories of the politicians, staff and visitors who have passed through its doors since the Second World War.

From political drama and diplomatic encounters to terrorist attacks, unexpected challenges and the quirks of life behind the scenes, discover the surprising stories hidden within this historic building. You’ll also find out about Larry the cat, the much-loved Chief Mouser who has served under seven prime ministers since 2011.

Whether you’re fascinated by British history, politics or the people behind the headlines, this is a wonderful opportunity to explore the secrets of one of the nation’s most famous addresses.

Stay tuned on the night to be in with a chance of winning a copy of Jacks book, Inside No.10
