 Mel Gibson-directed Flight Risk (from 24 January) promises thrills aplenty as an FBI agent escorts a government witness to trial, only to discover that the pilot of the plane they’re travelling on (Mark Wahlberg) is out to kill them.

Here’s one for all the wildlife lovers out there – the RSPB’s annual Big Garden Birdwatch is taking place from 24 to 26 January, once again encouraging people to monitor the various species that visit their outdoor space, then send their findings to the RSPB as part of a wider survey.
