About the event

2.30pm to 4.30pm, Wednesday 4 February 2026

The Chester and Wirral Group would like to invite you to their an insightful talk from World War Two by Elizabeth Allen.

The 15th April 2025 commemorated the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp by British Troops. However, it's history started in 1934 when Hitler became Fuhrer and began preparations to regain territory lost during world War One.

Our speaker's husband was in the army so, in 1970, she began living under the shadow of Belsen for the next 10 years. Not only will Elizabeth tell us about Belsen but also some of the funny things that life as a 'camp follower' brings.

All welcome.
