In your defence - True stories of life and law
Event Date: Tuesday 15th September 2026 | Time: 7pm – 8pm
About this event
The law shapes every moment of our lives - yet most of us know almost nothing about it. It governs our relationships, our work, our home and our relationship with the state. And yet it remains shrouded in archaic ritual and inaccessible language. When those who are caught up in it do make it onto our screens and headlines, their lives are cast in black and white; their stories told as ones of good and bad.
In In Your Defence, Sunday Times bestselling author and former criminal and family barrister Sarah Langford draws on eleven true-life cases over her decade in the courtroom to reveal the extraordinary humanity that plays out, day after day, behind closed courtroom doors. These are not tales of famous trials. They are stories of ordinary people - vulnerable, heartbroken, sometimes desperate - whose lives were irrevocably altered by a system most of us will never see from the inside.
Boundless Members stay tuned until the end of the event for the chance of winning a copy of Sarahs book, In your defence.
