About this event

The lost villages of England

Time often feels like a gentle river, carrying us steadily and predictably into the future. But for more than a century, physicists have known that this comforting picture simply isn’t true. Evidence from modern science reveals that time is far stranger, more flexible, and more mysterious than we ever experience in daily life.

Where does yesterday truly go? Where does tomorrow come from? Is it possible at least in theory to revisit the past or leap forward into the distant future?

In this thought provoking talk, we’ll explore these questions and more. Together, we’ll delve into the surprising science of how time really works and consider what it means for some of the deepest questions we can ask about our existence including whether free will is real, or whether the “choices” we make were never choices at all.

Join us for an illuminating journey into one of the universe’s greatest mysteries.
