About the event
8.30am to 5pm, Saturday 13 June 2026
Join the Classic Vehicle Group for a delightful drive exploring historical landmarks.
This year we have put together an event which explores not only the towns and villages and coast of these two beautiful counties, but a little bit of Wiltshire too!
We will start at our earlier venue at The Swan, just south of Lyndhurst on the A35, now re-opened and under new and enthusiasatic ownership where breakfast options will be available while registration and briefing takes place.
We will look at the 20th Century history of the areas through our visit to Breamore Countryside Museum and several WWII airfields in The New Forest - as well as our earlier history ranging from passing the important Roman Villa at Rockbourne to our spectacular finish at Bucklers Hard, the protected village on the Beaulieu River where a number of the ships of Nelson's navy were built including his first command; HMS Agamemnon.
The run will be broadly circular this time, following the south coast before arriving at the finish where tea and cake will be provided at The Captain's Table Cafe at Bucklers Hard. This is where we will display the cars in the ancient village between its picturesque rows of cottages while we visit the exhibition, the Chapel and possibly the Master Builder's Hotel next to the river for anyone wanting to finish our afternoon in classic style!
