About the event

7pm to 8.45pm, Thursday 16 October 2025

Don't miss the return of Terry Bracher from the Wiltshire Archives and Local Studies Staff for this month's "Free Talk": Horrible and Curious History - From the Bronze Age to the present day. this month's British Comedy Award winner Paul Kerensa: "An Evening of (VERY) Old Radio – The BBC Year 1."

This fascinating talk will cover topics such as bed burials, witchcraft and we can expect that he will reveal some more of Wiltshire's strange but true stories! in the month of Halloween. Wiltshire has had it's fair share of horrible and unusual history and no doubt Terry will have more to tell us on the night and we will set aside some time for questions afterwards.

Refreshments will be available as usual. There is also free parking but do remember to register your car on arrival at reception. You’ll also find information on future events, opportunities to view past club magazines, and time to socialise in the bar.
