Join The York Group at the Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel for a fascinating talk by Eric Jackson, about all those saints we know so well, or think we do!

Do join us to hear about all those saints we know so well, or think we do! St George, St Valentine, St Christopher and many others, their stories and legends brought to life in this fascinating talk by Eric Jackson.

Why do we send Valentine’s Day cards, what is the connection between St Nicolas, aka Santa Clause, and why do we exchange gifts at Christmas? Why and how did a Greek soldier become the patron saint of England?

All these stories and more in this illuminating talk. It also tells the stories of those little-known Yorkshire saints, St William of York and St Robert of Knaresborough, both contenders for the role of patron saint of Yorkshire.

Free parking and complementary refreshments will be available.

All welcome.
