Splashing Out or Feeling Stretched?

The Travel Issue: Great escapes for every budget

Happy new year! We hope you and yours enjoyed a relaxing festive season, and that you’re looking ahead to fresh adventures and time together in 2023. There’s no denying we’re living through tough times, and January can often feel a bit flat. Which is why we devote this first issue of the year to travel. Whether close to home (strolling the ever-sunny Bournemouth seafront) or further afield (driving the tropical Florida Keys), these pages are packed with ideas to inject Vitamin D and va-va-voom into the British winter.

Of course, money is a factor. So we’ve included a round-up of the destinations where your pound will stretch the furthest, plus expert advice on trips for all budgets – many made even more affordable thanks to your Boundless discounts. And don’t forget all the free, mood-boosting experiences that come with membership. Enjoy the vibrant annual orchid festival at Kew Gardens. Marvel at winter wildlife at your local WWT site. Take a nostalgic spin around the Cotswold Motoring Museum. All are free to members, as are our fantastic online events (boundless.co.uk/events).

Our club has always been about enjoying new experiences and giving members great value for money. A hundred years ago, in 1923, our founder Frank Edwards bought a motorcycle and relished his new hobby so much that he wanted to share it with other people. The CSMA was born, and with it the added benefit of enabling members to club together and save money on essentials like insurance and engine oil. This year, we proudly celebrate our centenary, and although so much has changed since then, our focus is fundamentally the same – saving money, enabling memorable experiences, fostering friendships and fun. Our next issue (out in March) will be a bumper one to mark the occasion - we’re already looking forward to sharing it with you. In the meantime, happy travel planning.
