Let’s normalise going away on your own adventure. We explain how you can use your Boundless membership to save on going on a solo UK adventure.
Going away needn’t always be a group affair. It’s all too easy to forget that not everyone has a family to go away with. Equally, people with families might actually quite fancy a break away on their own. Regardless of where you fit on that spectrum, there’s plenty of amazing trips on our doorstep in the UK to carve out some alone time, take in some sights, and relax and recharge in solitude.
Of course, when going away alone, it’s also fair to consider the fact you’ve not got anyone to split costs with, meaning things can prove expensive. That’s why we’re giving you our guide to going on a solo holiday in the UK for less with the help of Boundless’ two membership options to save on travel, accommodation, and activities.

It’s so easy to forget, but the UK actually has a lot on offer. In fact, whether you want an offgrid adventure, an exhilarating city break, or a snoozy seaside stay, it’s all there to choose from.
For scenic getaways, why not base your destination around a handful of National Trust sites you might like to visit? In the UK there are over 500 historic properties looked after by the National Trust as well as 890 miles of coastline and 250,000 hectares of farmland.
Alongside National Trust giftcards, Boundless also offers unlimited access to National Trust for Scotland places sites for a real solo adventure in the wilderness. National Trust for Scotland places include great hiking spots across Ben Lomond or meet dizzying heights walking across the suspension bridge in Corrieshalloch Gorge. National Trust for Scotland places also offers some of the top UK wildlife watching spots, including in Fair Isle and Burg.
You could also plan your trip around one of Boundless’ own holiday locations, including the Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds.

It’s fair to say the UK is fairly well connected where public transport is concerned, but for those more rural trips, you may be in need of a car. If you don’t have your own, you might consider hiring one, allowing you to not only get to your destination, but also make day trips and really soak up the local area with ease.
With Boundless you can get a discount on Enterprise rentals, with 10% off UK hires on both cars and vans. For city breaks, Enterprise Car Club might be a better fit with the option to access a car ad hoc across 130 cities with the option to book by the hour or day. Alternatively, you can get 10% off hires through Holiday Autos, which works with the likes of Avis, Hertz, Europcar, and others.
Have your own car but nervous about breaking down while on your solo trip? Feel confident you’ll safely get from A to B with roadside assistance and local breakdown recovery by Britannia Rescue, included with Boundless Plus membership.
When in doubt, there’s also the caravan option. Home on wheels so you can pull up just about anywhere – well, a certified camping spot. Boundless members can save 10% on motorhome hire from Swift Go.

If you don’t opt for a caravan holiday, there are other means for a cushty stay using your Boundless membership. As mentioned, Boundless has a number of its own holiday properties in the South and South West of England. If you’re planning a break around this part of the UK, this could be a great choice.
While Whitemead is certainly the best fit for families, if you’re after a blissful solo trip, we recommend Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel & Spa or one of four gorgeous cottage apartments in Bourton-on-the-Water. The former offers two swimming pools, a kitted out gym, and spa, and is located just a short walk to the beach.
For other hotel options around the UK, Boundless is also partnered with the likes of Warner Hotels, Hotels.com, and Hoseasons.
