UK or abroad, with a Boundless membership every element of your next holiday could be booked with a discount. Build your perfect break now.
Holidays are a big part of life, and whether you prefer a cottage in the countryside or a cruise in the Caribbean, getting away for a few days is a great way to boost your mood and recharge your batteries, all while making beautiful memories.
Before you get to that point, though, there’s the small matter of actually planning your break. Where will you go? What will you stay in? How will you get there? And will you need things like insurance and car hire? To help you make these decisions, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide to building the perfect holiday.
The best part is that most of the suggestions on this page are tied to Boundless member discounts, meaning you can book your dream break while keeping costs down.
Already a Boundless member? Simply log in to gain full access to all the offers and benefits included in your membership.

Step 1: Choose your destination

Do you have your heart set on white sandy beaches or windswept moors? Cities steeped in culture or islands teeming with wildlife? Wherever in the world you wish to spend your holiday, you can access some great discounts with your Boundless membership, enabling you to make huge savings.
Book a UK staycation
Staycations remain popular among Brits, who paid 105.6 million on overnight visits to domestic destinations in 2024. OK, so you aren’t guaranteed good weather, especially if you’re travelling out of season. But holidays on these shores still have plenty to offer – from glorious scenery to good old British food. What’s more, no matter where you’re starting from, you won’t have to travel too far to get to your destination.
With a Boundless membership, you can save money on a variety of British holidays. For example, if you book a break at one of our Boundless-owned properties (Whitemead Forest Park or Cotswold Cottages), you’ll get up to 20% off – on top of any limited-time offers. Elsewhere, you can save up to 20% on selected breaks at Haven, 8% on bookings with Hotels.com, and 5% at both Hoseasons and cottages.com, as well as getting money off stays at Warner Hotels (see ‘Pick a place to stay’, below).
Of course, another benefit of holidaying here in the UK is that you can take advantage of your other Boundless membership benefits, including Kids Pass (for savings on days out), tastecard including Coffee Club (for dining discounts), entry to WWT sites, and unlimited access to properties in the Historic Royal Palaces portfolio (Boundless Plus members only).

Europe is your oyster
If you fancy some respite from British culture but don’t want to travel too far, then a European break could be just the ticket. Whether you go by plane, train, car or ferry, you can be sampling the continent’s most exciting destinations – from historic cities such as Paris, Munich and Rome, to the sun-kissed beaches of Spain, Portugal and Croatia – within a matter of hours.
And Boundless members can enjoy great savings on your holiday. As well as the 8% Hotels.com discount we mentioned before, you can save up to 35% with Eurocamp, which offers hundreds of superb locations across the continent. Similar discounts are available on trips to France, Spain and Portugal with Brittany Ferries, and you can also get money off European breaks with both Barrhead Travel and Travelsphere.
For the full list of discounts on European breaks, visit our travel savings hub.
Go further afield with international travel
Those with a serious case of wanderlust might prefer to venture a little further afield. If you can brave the extended travel time, breathtaking rewards await – from whale watching in South Africa to meeting Komodo dragons in Indonesia, discovering glacial fjords in the Canadian Rockies to scaling the heights of Kilimanjaro. It’s all out there to discover.
Again, there are some great deals to be had if you’re a Boundless member. As well as the discounts available from aforementioned partners Barrhead Travel and Travelsphere, you can get £100 off per person on tailor-made trips with Australian Sky, New Zealand Sky and Tropical Sky, as well as £150 off per person or a free excursion with Canadian Sky.

Step 2: Pick a place to stay

Want to stay in a luxury hotel with all your whims catered for, or would you prefer a self-catering retreat? Fancy a week in a coastal caravan or does a fortnight on a cruise ship float your boat? Whatever your accommodation of choice, you can get some great discounts with Boundless.
Enjoy the small luxuries of a hotel
Whether it’s a two-star B&B in London or a five-star palace in Dubai, staying in a hotel is one of the easier forms of holiday accommodation. Once you’ve checked in, the only things you really have to worry about are whether you want a newspaper popped under your door in the morning and what time you’re going to go down for breakfast. Yes, it can be expensive – especially if you have to buy your meals separately – but you can bring the cost down with your Boundless membership.
If you’d prefer an adults-only break, how about a Warner hotel? You can save a minimum of £5 per person on any two-night stay, a minimum of £10 per person on any three or four-night stay, and up to £80 per room on selected breaks. Members can also save 8% on bookings with Hotels.com, which offers hundreds of hotels across the UK, Europe and beyond.
Live a more quaint lifestyle in a cottage
A picture-postcard retreat with a pretty garden and all your home comforts. If that sounds like your idea of paradise, then a cottage holiday is for you. There are hundreds of beautiful properties across the UK, ranging from fisherman’s cottages in Cornwall to large family homes overlooking the lakes of northern Scotland – and you can save money on your stay thanks to your Boundless membership.
Book through cottages.com and you can save 5% on your bill. Plus, you can get four nights for the price of three if you arrive on a Monday, and three nights for the price of two on weekend breaks. With over 21,000 cottages to choose from, you should easily find your dream destination.
Alternatively, there’s the Boundless-owned Cotswold Cottages, nestled in the delightful setting of Bourton-on-the-Water. Ordinarily, members save 20% when staying here, but if you book your 2026 break during January, the maximum discount rises to 25%.
Pack your break with activities and opt for a holiday park
If you have young children, you can’t really go wrong with a holiday park. Offering a range of accommodation options – from caravans to chalets, lodges to camping pitches – they typically provide a range of on-site activities and amenities, ensuring that no one will get bored during your break. They’re usually located in attractive locations, too, meaning you’re never far away from coastline or countryside.
Boundless members can save up to 20% on selected breaks at Haven and 5% all year round at Hoseasons. Both offer a choice of family-friendly sites across the UK, all within easy reach of popular tourist hotspots. You can get up to 20% off at Whitemead, the Boundless-owned woodland retreat in the Forest of Dean. Or, if you’re going abroad, you can save up to 35% on 2026 holidays with Eurocamp. Boasting hundreds of locations in France, Spain, Italy, Croatia and more, these fun-filled parks offer a wide variety of accommodation options covering a range of budgets.
Cover more ground with a motorohome
Giving you the freedom to roam about at your leisure, motorhomes are popular with couples and families who love stopping off at different locations and enjoying the great outdoors. While the newer, larger models contain all your mod cons, including kitchen and toilet facilities, others are little more than a van with a mattress. Either way, you’re sure to have fun – just be aware that many dedicated motorhome sites require you to book before arrival.
Don’t own a motorhome? That’s OK, as you can hire them very easily. In fact, Boundless members get 10% off motorhome hire with Swift Go – and you’ll get access to around 2,700 Caravan and Motorhome Club sites across the UK, too.
Enjoy the best of both on a cruise ship
Like hotels on the water, cruise ships provide a unique and idyllic way to explore new places and make new friends. Varying in size from giant sea vessels packed with on-board activities, to smaller riverboats that offer a more intimate experience, they generally stop off at different locations, striking the perfect balance between on-board relaxation and shore-based adventures.
Cruise holidays tend to be at the upper end of the price scale, but you can reduce the cost with Boundless. Members save up to 10% when booking through Barrhead Travel, with a huge choice of worldwide excursions up for grabs.
Step 3: Your transport options

Love the idea of jetting off to exotic climes, or are you all geared up for a road trip? Does rail travel appeal to your sense of adventure, or would you rather set sail on a voyage of discovery? No matter how you wish to travel to your chosen destination, Boundless has you covered with some fantastic money-saving deals.
Plane
Taking to the skies is obviously the quickest way to get to your destination – and if you’re travelling further afield, it’s pretty much the only way. While there currently aren’t any flight deals for Boundless members, you can save money on airport lounge access and transfers – see ‘What accessories will you need?’, below.
Car
If you’re holidaying in the UK, then driving to your destination makes a lot of sense. It can be cheaper than other modes of transport, since you can carry several people at once; you don’t have the hassle of hauling your luggage around with you; and you have the freedom to stop off and stretch your legs along the way.
Even if you want to travel abroad, driving can be a good option. The LeShuttle service will get you, your car and up to nine people from Folkestone to Calais in northern France in just 35 minutes, with prices starting at £47. Or you can take your car on a Brittany Ferries crossing from the UK to France or Spain, with Boundless members able to save 5% on their fare all year round.
If you’re taking your own vehicle on holiday, you’ll need to ensure that it’s capable of making the journey without any issues. For peace of mind, use your Boundless membership to book a service at your nearest Halfords Autocentre – you’ll save 10% on the price, and you’ll even get a free MOT if it’s a full or major service.
Even if you don’t have your own vehicle, you can still drive to your destination by hiring a car. See ‘What accessories will you need’ (below) to find out how you can save money with your Boundless membership. As mentioned above, if you fancy renting a motorhome, you can get 10% off all year round with Swift Go.
Whichever vehicle you’re taking, remember that, if you’re a Boundless Plus member, you get free roadside assistance with Britannia Rescue. And even if you’re a standard Boundless member, you can get annual breakdown cover from just £44.
Coach
Of course, you can also travel by road without having to do the driving yourself. While there are currently no Boundless membership deals related to coach travel, you can save money if you’re of retirement age with the National Express Coachcard, which saves you a third on travel. To find out more, read our article on the best discounts for over-60s.
National Express also offers its Disabled Coachcard, as well as a 16-26 Young Persons Coachcard.
Train
Travelling by train gives you the opportunity to kick back and relax while enjoying the stunning views that pass by outside your window. Few companies do rail-themed holidays better than The Railway Touring Company, which offers a range of breathtaking excursions both in the UK and overseas – many with on-board dining included. And as a Boundless member, you can save £100 per person on domestic, European and worldwide holidays.
As with coach travel, you can also save money if you’re an older citizen by buying a Senior Railcard, with 26-30, Disabled Persons Railcards also available. If you’re travelling as a family, the Family & Friends Railcard allows you to travel with up to four adults and four children. The Two Together allows you and your partner to travel together with a saving of up to £104 per trip.
Ferry
We touched upon ferry travel in the ‘Car’ section above. It’s worth nothing, though, that you can also travel by ferry as a foot passenger. For Boundless members, the same 5% discount applies when booking with Brittany Ferries.
Step 4: Make sure you've got all your other travel essentials sorted

Credit: Getty Images
By the time you get to this point, your holiday plans may be almost complete. Before you set off on your travels, though, make sure there aren’t any other things you need to consider, such as insurance, car hire, and parking. Once again, we’ve ensured that Boundless members can make great savings on these essentials.
Travel insurance
No matter how well you’ve planned for your holiday, things can go wrong – and that’s why it’s sensible to buy travel insurance before you go. According to Forbes, the most common reasons for travel insurance claims among Brits in the five years up to 2023 were trip cancellations (35%), lost belongings (31%) and emergency medical treatment (27%), with insurers paying out £511million in 2023 alone.
The good news is that you can cover yourself and your family without adding significantly to the overall cost of your holiday, with Boundless members saving a whopping 24% (including membership discount) when buying online through LV=.
Car hire
If you’re travelling abroad – or if you’re staying in the UK but don’t have your own transport – you may wish to hire a car to make the most of your holiday. Boundless members can cut costs here, with savings of up to 10% on UK and worldwide vehicle hire with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and up to 10% on worldwide car hire with Holiday Autos. Both firms offer a wide range of vehicles, meaning you should be able to find something suitable for the size of your party. Just remember that it’ll need to be big enough to carry all your luggage, too.
Parking
Jetting off to warmer climes is lovely, but leaving your car at the airport for a week or two can be very expensive. Thankfully, you can reduce the cost of parking with Holiday Extras. Covering 29 major UK airports, this pre-booking service works out up to 70% cheaper than paying on the day. What’s more, for a limited time, Boundless members get a further 10% off their bill (offer expires 1 February, upon which the discount is reduced to 5%).
It’s worth noting that Holiday Extras also offers discounts for Boundless members on hotels, airport lounge access and transfers, helping you to plan a seamless travel experience without racking up a massive bill.
Travel money
How often have you used your credit card overseas, only to return home and find that you’ve accrued a huge amount of charges? Currensea aims to eliminate such surprises. Connecting directly to your bank account, this ‘direct debit travel card’ enables you to save at least 85% on charges when spending in foreign currencies.
And as a Boundless member, you’ll get an added bonus when you subscribe – make five transactions abroad in the first 12 months of opening your Currensea account and you’ll receive a £15 cashback.
Do more with Boundless
If you're working in or retired from the public sector or civil service, Boundless has two great membership options to choose from: Boundless and Boundless Plus.
With Boundless, you get unlimited access or discounted entry to many of the UK’s top attractions including Kew Gardens and Wakehurst and WWT centres across the UK, as well as year-round deals on restaurants, holidays, shopping and much more. With Boundless Plus, you can enjoy additional benefits, including unlimited access to Historic Royal Palaces sites, National Trust for Scotland places, access to the Ramblers' extensive group walks and routes, and peace of mind with roadside assistance and local recovery by Britannia Rescue.
