Classic Vehicle Group
About the event
8.30pm to 5pm, Sunday 2 June
The Classic Vehicle Group invite you to join them to explore the beautiful countryside and sea views which make early summer Dorset so fascinating.
We will again start at The Swan just south of Lyndhurst on A35, for registration, tea, coffee and biscuits (with other buffet food available at cost) and there will be a short briefing and opportunity for questions. Our route this year will take us into the New Forest and on through the Avon Valley towards Cranbourne and the beautiful town of Blandford Forum, often called the most complete and perfect Georgian town in England, having been largely destroyed by fire in 1731 and rebuilt to planned excellence!
Moving south we will reach the well known Athelhampton House (food available without admission; admission interesting) and onwards past the Cerne Abbas Giant before taking country roads to reach the sea close to Abbotsbury Swannery and subtropical gardens.
Heading eastwards through beautiful country we will cross the causeway onto the Isle of Portland and finish with cream tea at The Heights Hotel with amazing views along the Chesil Beach and out to sea.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
