About the event

7.30pm to 10pm, Wednesday 8 May

The Shropshire Group would like to invite you to an intriguing talk to discover Mediaeval Newport in Shropshire.

Shropshire Group have enjoyed walking around Newport (in Shropshire) and appreciating some of the old buildings during Treasure Hunts in the last couple of years, so here is a chance to delve even further into Newport's past and explore the town during mediaeval times.

How big was it, how important locally, is this when the word 'port' became part of its name and why, what did the local people do to feed and house themselves? So many questions, with lots of interesting answers, I'm sure.

Tea and coffee served from 7.30pm, with a chance to meet other members, with the talk to start at 8pm.

Come along and find out more, everyone welcome.
