Built in the mid-nineteenth century as a large Victorian house set in beautiful gardens, the charming Cairn Hotel is perfectly located just a five-minute walk from the centre of Harrogate.

On Tuesday, after a hearty Yorkshire breakfast, you will be free to explore for yourself. There are lots of things to do very close by. RHS Garden Harlow Carr, the Mercer Art Gallery, Rudding Park Spa, the Turkish Baths, Stockeld Park, Brimham Rocks (National Trust) and Valley Gardens are all reachable within 30 minutes by car, some are even less than 15 minutes away by foot! There are also a selection of local microbreweries and pubs in Harrogate. Cold Bath Brewing Co and Clubhouse, Harrogate Brewing Co, Roosters Brewing Co Taproom and The Little Ale House are but just a few suggestions. If beer's not your thing, why not take a short trip out to Whittaker's Gin Distillery for a tour and tasting.

During the festive period, Stockeld Park transforms into a mesmerizing wonderland of twinkling lights at their Winter Illuminations and Christmas Adventure event. You can also check out the Harrogate Christmas Fayre, with eclectic mix of local traders and traditional European Christmas stalls, just a ten-minute walk from the hotel.

If you feel like travelling a bit further out of town, Leeds can be reached within an hour by car. Known as 'foodie capital of the North', Leeds has a thriving independent food scene. Head to Kirkgate Market or Trinity Kitchen to experience the street food stalls, or if fine dining's your thing, why not try out a tasting menu at the Michelin starred restaurant, The Man Behind the Curtain. In Leeds, you will also find the Royal Armouries Museum, Kirkstall Abbey and Harewood House. There are also a number of Christmas markets around the city, including at the Corn Exchange and Kirkgate Market. Also reachable within an hour from the hotel is the walled city of York. You will find a plethora of must-see attractions here, including York Minster, Castle Howard, the National Railway Museum, Shambles Market and Food Court, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and the JORVIK Viking Centre. On the Wednesday, you will also be free to spend your day how you like but ensure to be back at the hotel in the afternoon for a festive-themed mini afternoon tea with a glass of festive fizz! Dinner will follow in the evening with live entertainment.

Included in this break is four-night's dinner, bed and breakfast, with a mulled wine drinks reception before dinner on the first evening. There will also be nightly entertainment and a mini festive-themed afternoon tea with fizz on Wednesday afternoon. There is ample free parking for guests and Wi-Fi is also free in the bedrooms.

There are accessible rooms available on request and subject to availability, so please ensure to mention this when booking. Pets are also allowed to stay and are charged at £15 per pet, per night with a maximum of two pets per room, this must also be notified at the time of booking.
