Join the Social Breaks and Holidays Group on a great new break to explore the Cathedral City of York.

Stay three nights in in the heart of York at the 4-star Middletons Hotel, awarded Visit York Large Hotel of the Year 2023. The hotel's city centre location makes for the perfect base to explore York and all it has to offer.

 

There's plenty to do and see in York and most of the city's main attractions are reachable within a 20 minute walk from the hotel. York Minster, one of the world's most magnificent cathedrals and home to largest single spanse of medieval stained glass in the country, is just a 17 minute walk away. Enjoy panoramic views of the city at the top of the Central Tower or check out the Treasures: Yorkshire's People and Parishes exhibition which is running until spring 2025.

 

The National Railway Museum, home to the most iconic locomotives and fantastic collections, is also very close by and is free to enter - prior booking is highly recommended to guarantee admission. Other places of interest in York include the JORVIK Viking Centre, Clifford's Tower (English Heritage), York's Chocolate Story (discover the history of chocolate!) The Shambles and the York City Walls. All of these attractions are located within just 20 minutes from the hotel on foot.

 

If you feel like exploring further, RHS Harlow Carr and the city of Leeds are both reachable within an hour by car. There are also a number of English Heritage sites in and around York, including the York Cold War Bunker, Kirkham Priory, Aldborough Roman Site and Spofforth Castle, to name a few.

Included in this break is three nights dinner, bed and breakfast and a welcome drink on the first evening. Guests also have complimentary use of the fitness facilities onsite and free WiFi. There is a small onsite car park and parking is charged at £12.50 per night, there are also a number of E. On Electric vehicle chargers. There are several local car parks nearby as well, should this one become full.

 

There are no lifts in the hotel, however ground floor rooms are available on request. Please make sure to mention this when booking if you require a ground floor room.

£299 per person based on two sharing a double or twin room

Single supplement is £40 per person, per night (£120 total for the break)

 

A deposit of £50 per person will be taken at the time of booking
