9am to 7.30pm on Saturday 13 June 2020
Leeds Group have organised a coach trip to Liverpool. A city which has many attractions with more museums and galleries than any other UK city outside of the capital. After arriving at Liverpool Docks you have free time to wander around and enjoy yourselves.
The Albert Docks is one of the UK's finest heritage attractions – a walk around the quayside will take visitors passed little sweet stores, world-class museums including Tate Liverpool and The Beatles Story – yes, all things Beatles – and a number of bars and restaurants. For more Beatles, the Magical Mystery Tour leaves from the Albert Dock and takes fans to the famous sites of Strawberry Field and Penny Lane and ends at the Cavern Club. With the National Trust, you can even step inside Lennon and McCartney’s childhood homes. For even more of the Fab Four, head to the Magical Beatles Museum on Mathew Street to see over 300 pieces of Beatles related memorabilia.
There’s one thing that a trip to Liverpool just isn’t complete without, and that’s a trip on the Ferry across the Mersey. You can visit the Spaceport for all things intergalactic or the U-boat Story for a fascinating insight into the World War II submarine.
Liverpool boasts many museums including the World Museum, Merseyside Maritime Museum, Walker Art Gallery, Lady Lever Art Gallery, International Slavery Museum and the Museum of Liverpool.
You might want to add Liverpool Cathedral to your list of sights to visit. It’s Britain’s largest cathedral and a truly breath-taking place. If you can, book onto a tower tour and explore the highest vaults of the building.
The cost of the trip is £16.50 per person (coach only).
The coach will pick us up at 9am from the Holiday Inn-Garforth and will arrive at Liverpool Docks at about 11am. We will leave Liverpool at 5.30pm. Cars may be left in the Holiday Inn hotel car park.
