7pm to 9pm, Thursday 26 August 2021
The Swindon Group would like to invite you to our Free Talk on the "Wilton Windmill.
As part of our comeback programme we are pleased to be able to invite back one of our cancelled speakers prior to Covid.
We have lined up for you another fascinating Free talk on local landmarks "The Wilton Windmill" (south east of Marlborough) by Charles Baxter.
Set high above the village of Wilton, in the heart of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Beauty about 9 miles south east of Marlborough in Wiltshire. Wilton Windmill is the only working windmill in Wessex and still produces wholemeal stone-ground flour.
The Windmill is run entirely by volunteers from the Wilton Windmill Society.
The talk will cover it's history and restoration fully completed in 1976.
Charles will also provide details during the course of the evening of the Guedelon project in France.
There is free parking available to the rear of the hotel.
Refreshments will be available as usual under the arrangements of the hotel.
Those attending are invited to socialise in the bar afterwards and/or garden if the weather is nice.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
