About the event

7.00pm to 9.00pm, Thursday 20 October 2016

You are hereby cordially invited to join Bill Spectre on his award-winning walking tour of Burford's ghosts. Illustrated with props and illusions, a costumed actor (who is a professional actor and equity member) will entertain and horrify you through the streets of this most historic city. You may regret not bringing a camera! (The cost of the Actor for the tour is £110 which will be the event cost).
The Burford Tour starts from outside the Tolsey Museum, at the junction of The High Street and Sheep Street. At 7pm on 20th October and lasting about an hour, we explore the infamous characters who once lived here, one of whom was so hated his effigy was burnt on Burford High Street every Midsummer's Day for 200 years! The tour ends near what was once The George Inn, the old meeting place of the original Tom, Dick and Harry.
A payment of £5 per person for the tour will be taken at the start of the tour by club secretary or chair.
Those that wish to stay to have a drink or a meal afterwards are welcome to do so. If you wish to join us for a meal or refreshments please book directly with the Mermaid Inn, which is close to our tour finish point at 78 The High Street. You will be responsible for payment of your own bill at the Mermaid.

Tolsey Museum is situated at the centre of Burford, OX18 4QU, (SP 252 122) on the corner of High Street and Sheep Street, 430 metres north of the A40, midway between Oxford and Cheltenham
