Join Boundless on Saturday 7 December for an unforgettable members’ day out at Longleat Safari Park, home of the stunning Festival of Light, the UK’s original, biggest and brightest lantern festival. This year the Festival of Lights presents Myths and Legends.
The Festival of Light showcases thousands of stunning displays, handmade by craftsmen from Zigong in China, where lantern festivals have been designed for over 2000 years. With incredible attention to detail, moving parts and some reaching over 20 metres in height, it’s no wonder this has become a sell-out event over the years.
Longleat is the UK’s number-one safari park so, with over 500 animals to spot on your drive-through safari, including tigers, rhinos, gorillas, hippos, cheetahs and – new for 2019 – an adorable pack of wolf cubs. Keep your binoculars at the ready as you venture into Lion Country, wind up your windows and keep your hands on your packed lunch as you enter Monkey Mayhem – and don’t forget to say hello to Anne, the elephant who really did run away from the circus.
If you’re up for a challenge, you can take your chances in one of the biggest hedge mazes in the world, there are over two miles of paths to get lost in!
During December, the festive season will be upon us, and Longleat’s magnificent house and gardens will take you back in time to a magical Edwardian Christmas, with live characters in every room to bring the season to life and leave you full of the festive spirit.
